Georgia reports 4,226 new cases of COVID-19, positivity rate at 8.31%

Georgia has reported 4,226 new cases of coronavirus, 4,091 recoveries and 53 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate in the country stands at 8.31% as of December 8 over the last 14 days.
Overall 45,298 remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.
A total of 55,130 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 33,673 of the 55,130 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 21,457 were PCR tests.
875,806 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.
A total of 817,963 of 875,806 patients have recovered, while 12,519 have died from the virus.

The 4,226 new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,790 cases
- Adjara - 205 cases
- Imereti - 635 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 250 cases
- Shida Kartli - 366 cases
- Guria - 117 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 316 cases
- Kakheti - 169 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 92 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 235 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 51 cases

A total of 6,371 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,600 of the 6,371 patients are in critical condition. 344 of the 1,600 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
37,738 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.
40,809 individuals are in self-isolation.
Overall, 1,205,262 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,023,779 people have been fully vaccinated.
Booster shots of the Covid-19 vaccine will be permitted five months after getting the second shot of the Pfizer vaccine, down from the initially recommended six, the Georgian Health Ministry reports.
COVID-19 ‘green’ passes went into effect in Georgia on December 1, obliging the public to present proof of vaccination, testing or recovery from the virus when entering certain establishments. There are two COVID apps - Georgia e-health and CovidPass Georgia - offered by the country to check the status of individuals regarding coronavirus.
Georgia has reported 4,509 new cases of coronavirus, 4,042 recoveries and 59 deaths in the past 24 hours. Overall 45,216 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
Georgia is expecting to receive special PCR tests from international partners to diagnose the new Omicron variant of coronavirus which was detected in South Africa last month and was classified as a ‘variant of concern’ by the World Health Organization (WHO), Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze stated earlier today.
Georgia has reported 3,562 new cases of coronavirus, 4,145 recoveries and 63 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate in the country stands at 8.22% as of December 9 over the last 14 days. Overall 44,652 remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.
Foreigners travelling in Georgia who are not registered in the COVID ‘green’ apps offered by the Georgian government will be able to have access to various facilities if they present proof they have been granted ‘green status’ by their own country. The ‘proof’ includes a QR code or a document issued by an official agency (of the country where a traveller is from) that an individual is completely vaccinated or a negative PCR test certificate (conducted within the last 72 hours).
