Georgia reports 4,226 new cases of COVID-19, positivity rate at 8.31%

Georgia has reported 4,226 new cases of coronavirus, 4,091 recoveries and 53 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate in the country stands at 8.31% as of December 8 over the last 14 days.

Overall 45,298 remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

A total of 55,130 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 33,673 of the 55,130 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 21,457 were PCR tests.

875,806 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 817,963 of 875,806 patients have recovered, while 12,519 have died from the virus.

The 4,226 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,790 cases 
  • Adjara - 205 cases 
  • Imereti - 635 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 250 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 366 cases 
  • Guria - 117 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 316 cases 
  • Kakheti - 169 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 92 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 235 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 51 cases

A total of 6,371 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,600 of the 6,371 patients are in critical condition. 344 of the 1,600 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

37,738 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

40,809 individuals are in self-isolation.

Overall, 1,205,262 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,023,779 people have been fully vaccinated.
