Georgia reports 3,562 new cases of COVID-19, positivity rate at 8.22%

Georgia has reported 3,562 new cases of coronavirus, 4,145 recoveries and 63 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate in the country stands at 8.22% as of December 9 over the last 14 days.

Overall 44,652 remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia.

A total of 54,470 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 31,693 of the 54,470 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18,777 were PCR tests.

879,368 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 822,108 of 879,368 patients have recovered, while 12,582 have died from the virus.

The 3,562 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,566 cases 
  • Adjara - 215 cases 
  • Imereti - 602 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 193 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 300 cases 
  • Guria - 76 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 253 cases 
  • Kakheti - 159 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 89 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 76 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 33 cases

A total of 6,286 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,559 of the 6,286 patients are in critical condition. 340 of the 1,559 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

37,188 people are undergoing treatment at home.

39,260 individuals are in self-isolation.

Overall, 1,212,180 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,028,797 people have been fully vaccinated.
