The results of exit commissioned by Imedi TV from Gorbi and by opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi channel from Anova have been released following the closure of polling stations in Georgia in the municipal election run-offs.
The exit polls offer differing pictures of the results.
Gorbi’s exit polls commissioned by Imedi TV as of 6 p.m. for four of the five largest cities in Georgia yielded the following:
Tbilisi:
- Kakha Kaladze - Georgian Dream ruling party (GD) - 57.2%.
- Nika Melia - United National Movement (UNM) - 42.8%.
Kutaisi:
- Ioseb Khakhaleishvili (GD) - 51.9%
- Khatia Dekanoidze (UNM) - 48.1%
Rustavi:
- Nino Latsabidze (GD) - 53.8 %
- Davit Kirkitadze (UNM) - 46.2%
Batumi:
- Archil Chikovani (GD) - 50.8%
- Giorgi Kirtadze (UNM) - 49.2%

Georgia held municipal run-off elections today, in which a total of 2,088,722 voters, including 1,002,525 in Tbilisi, were eligible to elect 20 mayors and 42 majoritarian members of local city assemblies (Sakrebulos).
5,309 representatives from parties, 35,198 observers of 100 local organizations, and 1,202 foreign observers from 52 international organizations have monitored the run-offs.
The Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) says that 97 complaints have been presented on voting procedures by 40 observers and 57 representatives of political parties in today’s municipal election run-offs.
Eight cases of alleged violations and breaking of law are under investigation by the interior ministry, with one individual arrested, as clashes at or outside polling stations across Georgia have been reported on municipal runoff day.
The second round of municipal elections will take place in Georgia tomorrow, including in all big cities of the country, amid a polarized political environment and continued rivalry between the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party and the main opposition, the United National Movement. The GD claims they will ‘finally defeat and end the UNM’ in the race, describing it ‘as an evil force’ which has been hampering development for 18 years, while the UNM still hopes the run-offs will lead to snap parliamentary elections ‘and the changing of the GD government.’
Transparency International (TI) Georgia says that its observers have recorded 50 minor and serious violations during today’s municipal election run-offs, as of 13:30.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has said that according to the preliminary results, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party has won the run-off municipal elections in all municipalities. After the announcement of exit poll results commissioned by Imedi TV, Garibashvili congratulated incumbent Tbilisi mayor Kakha Kaladze and other GD candidates on winning the mayoral run-offs.

Georgia's Central Election Commission has reported a 49.09 percent turnout for the municipal election runoff in the country on Saturday, as the body is expected to release its preliminary results for the voting during the night between Saturday and Sunday.
