Imedi TV, opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi commissioned exit polls differ

The results of exit commissioned by Imedi TV from Gorbi and by opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi channel from Anova have been released following the closure of polling stations in Georgia in the municipal election run-offs. 

The exit polls offer differing pictures of the results.

Gorbi’s exit polls commissioned by Imedi TV as of 6 p.m. for four of the five largest cities in Georgia yielded the following:  

Tbilisi: 

  • Kakha Kaladze - Georgian Dream ruling party (GD) - 57.2%. 
  • Nika Melia - United National Movement (UNM) - 42.8%.

Kutaisi: 

  • Ioseb Khakhaleishvili (GD) - 51.9%
  • Khatia Dekanoidze (UNM) - 48.1%

Rustavi: 

  • Nino Latsabidze (GD) - 53.8 %
  • Davit Kirkitadze (UNM) - 46.2%

Batumi:

  • Archil Chikovani (GD) - 50.8%
  • Giorgi Kirtadze (UNM) - 49.2%

Mtavari Arkhi commissioned polls as of 6 p.m. for all five main cities of Georgia are as follows: 

Tbilisi: 

  • Nika Melia - United National Movement (UNM) - 51%
  • Kakha Kaladze - Georgian Dream ruling party (GD) - 49%

Kutaisi: 

  • Khatia Dekanoidze (UNM) - 53%
  • Ioseb Khakhaleishvili (GD) - 47%

Rustavi: 

  • Davit Kirkitadze (UNM) - 53%
  • Nino Latsabidze (GD) - 47 %

Batumi:

  • Giorgi Kirtadze (UNM) - 51%
  • Archil Chikovani (GD) - 49%

Zugdidi: 

  • Anzor Melia (UNM) - 53%
  • Mamuka Tsotseria (GD) - 47%

Georgia held municipal run-off elections today, in which a total of 2,088,722 voters, including 1,002,525 in Tbilisi, were eligible to elect 20 mayors and 42 majoritarian members of local city assemblies (Sakrebulos). 

5,309 representatives from parties, 35,198 observers of 100 local organizations, and 1,202 foreign observers from 52 international organizations have monitored the run-offs.
