Covid-19 in Georgia: 3,436 new cases, 4,483 recoveries, 43 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,436 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 32,011 tests over the last 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, 4,483 individuals have recovered and 43 patients have died. 

Out of the new 3,436 new cases were reported in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,208
  • Imereti - 729
  • Kakheti - 539
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 235
  • Kvemo Kartli - 221
  • Shida Kartli - 195
  • Guria - 98
  • Adjara - 87
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 68
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 48
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 8

Yesterday Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili again called on the Georgian citizens to get vaccinated to curb the spread of the coronavirus. 

The Head of Georgia's National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze has meanwhile said that 99 per cent of individuals who have died from Covid-19 in Georgia were not vaccinated.
