Georgia reports 4,467 new Covid-19 cases, 1,790 recoveries, 42 deaths in 24 hours

Georgia has reported a total of 4,467 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 21,436 PCR tests and 31,051 rapid tests over the last 24 hours. 

Out of the 4,467 new cases 1,462 were reported in Tbilisi.

  • Kvemo Kartli - 283
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 123
  • Adjara - 119

  • Guria - 78
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 63

As of now, Georgia has confirmed 688,804 cases of Covid-19, including 626,478 recoveries and 9,699 deaths. The number of active cases stands at 52,601.

About one million people are currently vaccinated in Georgia, while 42 per cent of its population has recovered from the virus. 

Health officials have announced that the fifth wave of Covid-19 has already begun in the country, maintaining that ‘vaccination is the solution.’ 

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili also said the epidemiological situation in Georgia is ‘under control’ and called on the country’s citizens to get vaccinated to ‘protect our health.’
