Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has criticised MEP Raphael Glucksmann for his statements that the ‘judiciary is biased’ in Georgia, saying that Glucksmann is a ‘close friend of Georgia’s currently detained former president Mikheil Saakashvili.’
Husband of former deputy interior minister under Saakashvili’s UNM government Eka Zguladze, MEP Raphael Glucksmann is giving us clever pieces of advice on a daily basis about Georgia. I ask the public – should I be interested in what he says?” Garibashvili said earlier today.
He stated that Glucksmann, who was Saakashvili’s advisor while in office, is also responsible for Saakashvili’s ‘dictatorship and his steps which had destroyed the country.’

Neither Saakashvili, nor anyone from his close circle, will be able to regain power in the country,” Garibashvili said.
Garibashvili reiterated that Saakashvili and his government’s ‘irresponsible and unreasonable actions’ led to the occupation of Georgian territories by Russia, while ‘they (Saakashvili, UNM officials) abandoned the Georgian people, soldiers and ran from the battlefield.’
He said that it was under the Georgian Dream leadership that the country won cases against Russia and ‘proved Georgia’s innocence.’
Garibashvili said that the Georgian Dream will give a final blow to the UNM, ‘the force of evil,’ in the municipal election run-offs on October 30, and the Georgian Dream government will be ‘fully focused’ on the issues which trouble the country.
He also said that Saakashvili will be forgotten after the second round of elections.
