The Special Penitentiary Service of Georgia says former president Mikheil Saakashvili has violated the prison regulations by addressing the crowd from a cell earlier today.
The penitential service has announced that Saakashvili, who had a bathing day, was isolated in a bathroom when he approached the window of the cell and shouted at the crowd outside the prison.

Reportedly, any noise that causes disorder and affects the safety of the prison is considered a disciplinary violation.
Saakashvili’s lawyer Dimitri Sadzaglishvili said the ex-president ‘had visual communication’ with the crowd that had gathered in front of the No. 12 penitentiary facility in the town of Rustavi.
I love you”, Saakashvili shouted at the individuals passing by the prison, saying he is lucky to have an opportunity to express his gratefulness for their solidarity.
Saakashvili, who was detained in Tbilisi on October 1, faces seven criminal charges, including the recent illegal crossing of the state border.

Now a citizen of Ukraine, Saakashvili does not admit the crimes calling himself a 'political prisoner'.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili says that the nomination of a shadow cabinet for Tbilisi by United National Movement (UNM) opposition party head and the party’s Tbilisi mayoral candidate, Nika Melia, ‘is another lie and an attempt to mislead the public.’ Melia stated yesterday that after he wins the mayoral run-off on October 30, his deputies will be Lelo opposition party founder Mamuka Khazaradze, Girchi-More Freedom party head Zurab Japaridze, Droa leader Elene Khoshtaria, and opposition member Irakli Abesadze.
The third president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, who was detained in Tbilisi on October 1, has been officially charged for the illegal crossing of the state border earlier today. Six other criminal charges are filed against Saakashvili who has been convicted to six years of imprisonment in two cases while four other criminal cases are still being heard in Tbilisi City Court.
Police have arrested one more individual in connection with the illegal crossing of the national border by former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.
Lawyers of ex. president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili demand he be treated in a civil hospital and not in prison as his condition is allegedly deteriorating. Saakashvili’s lawyer, Nika Gvaramia, says Saakashvili may be killed during instigated unrest in the prison hospital, which is why it is unacceptable to treat him there.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has reiterated her previous claims that she will not pardon arrested ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili. She said Saakashvili, who was arrested a day before the October 2 municipal elections in Tbilisi ‘does not satisfy any criteria of a political prisoner or of a victim of innocence’.
