About 50,000 car parking fines have been issued in a year and a half in Tbilisi, Head of Municipal Transport Department Viktor Tsilosani said earlier today.
Tsilosani also said that Tbilisi City Hall has received up to one million GEL from hourly-zone parking.
There are 70 paid public parking spaces on 70 streets in Tbilisi.
Hourly parking allows drivers to use the spots for 15 minutes free of charge, with a cost of 1 GEL for every subsequent hour of parking.
Owners of electric vehicles and disabled are able to use the zones for free.
Citizens using the zones to park cars nearby their place of residence or property are allowed to take up parking spots for two vehicles free of charge.
