Georgian fashion designer and creative director of fashion house Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia, has starred in the most recent TV series of The Simpsons.
The red carpet performance of the Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2022 collection was ‘the build-up’ to an actual premier of The Simpsons special episode at the Paris Fashion Week on October 2.

He approached the producers of te famouse American TV series without much hope that they would ever want to collaborate, but in fact they did.
Born in Sokhumi, the provincial capital of the Russian-occupied Georgian region of Abkhazia, Gvasalia moved abroad emerging with the 'underground' collective Vetements he co-founded with his brother Guram.
Demna Gvasalia has been under the global fashion spotlight since his appointment as the creative director of Paris-based fashion house Balenciaga in 2015.
Since then Gvasalia was awarded the 2017 International Award of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and International Ready-to-Wear Designer Award at the 2016 Fashion Awards. He was also named 2016 Person of the Year by The Business of Fashion magazine.
Recently the celebrities, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Elliot Page and Tracee Ellis arrived at this year's Met Gala wearing Georgian Demna Gvasalia's Balenciaga Couture.
In late September Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili awarded Gvasalia with the Medal of Honour for his contribution to the popularisation of Georgia abroad.
Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Elliot Page and Tracee Ellis are among the celebrities who arrived at this year's Met Gala wearing Georgian Demna Gvasalia's Balenciaga Couture. Rihanna wore a Balenciaga overcoat and matching hat, while Kardashian walked the red carpet solo covering up her face in an all-black head-to-toe Balenciaga ensemble teamed with a ponytail and heels.
