Tbilisi City Hall will fund higher education fees for an additional 1,000 students from poor families who live in the capital city, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated earlier today.
He said that since 2015 up to now only students from poor families have received funding whose score on the social list was 70,000 or less.
Now students from families who have a social vulnerability score of up to 150,000 and less will also receive funding from City Hall,” Kaladze said.
Kaladze stated that funding for each student will be 2,250 GEL annually at a maximum and the exact amount will be dependent on the student’s university scores and the family’s score on the social vulnerability list.
He said that City Hall will double the number of students from poor families who will receive funding for their Master’s Degree.
Kaladze stated that students who have already received 100 per cent funding from Tbilisi City Hall will also receive bonuses on their bank accounts.
