The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party has announced earlier today that it will receive 50.9% of votes in Tbilisi while the largest opposition United National Movement (UNM) party will get 25.2% of the votes in the October 2 self-government elections in Georgia’s capital.
The GD also states that their candidate for Tbilisi mayor, incumbent Kakha Kaladze will win the municipal race with 57.9% of votes.
The survey was conducted between September 16-20 and 2,792 respondents were interviewed. The margin of error of the survey is 3%.
The GD also announced that based on their survey the ruling party gets 32 out of 50 seats in Tbilisi City Council (Sakrebulo), the UNM receives 11 seats while for the other two parties For Georgia and Girchi-More Freedom two each seats are allocated and one each for Alliance of Patriots, Lelo and Citizens.
A total of 31 political parties, 2,807 majoritarian candidates and 201 mayoral candidates are registered for the upcoming municipal election in Georgia.
