August 2021: number of international visits up 510% in Georgia

Georgia hosted 266,544 visitors in August 2021 which is a 510% increase compared to the same month of 2020, however it is still 75% less compared to August 2019, says the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

Accordingly, the number of visitors to Georgia in August was restored by only 24.5% of the 2019 figure", says the administration.

The top 10 countries from where visitors came in August were:

  1. Russia - 39,909 visitors (+809%)
  2. Turkey - 34,847 visitors (+ 114%)
  3. Ukraine - 29,372 visitors (+2,849%)
  4. Georgia (non-residents) - 23,117 visitors (+390%)
  5. Armenia - 22,733 visitors (+161%)
  6. Saudi Arabia - 16,436 visitors (+ 16,435%)
  7. Belarus - 13,494 visitors (+5,678%)
  8. Kazakhstan - 12,221 visitors (+2,489%)
  9. Azerbaijan - 11,181 visitors (+ 198%)
  10. Poland - 6,954 visitors (+12,100%)
