Georgia reports 4,031 new cases of coronavirus, 4,585 recoveries, 73 deaths

Georgia has reported 4,031 new cases of coronavirus, 4,585 recoveries and 73 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total, 42,744 tests have been conducted around the country of which 25,358 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,386 were PCR tests.
A 19-year-old Covid-infected girl died after giving birth at Bokeria University Hospital in Tbilisi yesterday.
Clinical director of the hospital Alexi Vachadze said the health condition of the newborn is satisfactory and his life is not in danger.
The young girl was admitted to the clinic on July 30, with a confirmed Covid infection. Upon entering the hospital, she already had severe respiratory problems. The aggravation of the condition affected other organ systems and sadly she died last night", Vachadze said.
In total, 13 pregnant women have died of coronavirus in Georgia.
The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,639 cases
- Imereti - 493 cases
- Adjara - 449 cases
- Kakheti - 343 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 294 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 247 cases
- Shida Kartli - 222 cases
- Guria - 127 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 100 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 83 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 34 cases
Currently 55,573 individuals remain infected with Covid-19, of which:
- 44,875 patients are undergoing treatment at home
- 7,493 patients - in hospitals
- 3,205 patients - in the clinical-hotels
In addition, 1,584 patients are in critical condition of which 369 are on artificial ventilation.
As of today 54,565 individuals are in self-isolation and 130 individuals are under quarantine.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 536,202 cases of coronavirus, 473,502 recoveries and 7,101 deaths.
Only 13% of the government reserve fund has been spent on the Covid-19 pandemic in Georgia in 2020 and in the six months of 2021, says the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI). The government reserve fund enables the state to cover the costs of unexpected expenses, such as natural disasters, epidemics, ecological and other types of disasters.
Georgia has reported 4,128 new cases of coronavirus, 5,611 recoveries and 79 deaths in the past 24 hours. 56,200 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia currently. 43,653 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 26,534 of the 43,653 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,119 were PCR tests. The country has had 532,171 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 10.77 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has announced today that the government is working to bring another 2 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Georgia. He said that if the pace of vaccination continues at this rate 'we can expect 2 million people to be vaccinated by the end of September'.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze has stated that Covid-19 deaths in the past one week in Georgia and worldwide outnumbered the most common individuals causes of death such as cardiovascular diseases, ischemic heart diseases, stroke and tumors.
Vaccination buses have begun rounds in the Varketili, Gldani and Station Square districts of Tbilisi today. A total of 10 vaccination buses will be on the road in Tbilisi, Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze announced today.
The Georgian government will offer incentives to the public to encourage them to get vaccinated against Covid-19, said Head of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze today.
Georgia has reported 4,247 new cases of coronavirus, 3,053 recoveries and 74 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 45,100 tests have been conducted around the country of which 26,737 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18,363 were PCR tests. The National Center for Disease Control reports that as of August 28, a total of 1,122,209 vaccinations have been administered in the country.

The country has had 545,033 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 10.44 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.488,661 of the 545,033 patients have recovered, while 7,329 have died from the virus.
