Georgia reports 2,654 new cases of coronavirus, 1,319 recoveries, 33 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,654 new cases of coronavirus, 1,319 recoveries and 33 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

431,806 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 17,708 of the 31,806 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,098 were PCR tests. 

The country has had 422,188 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

6.95 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days. 

384,712 of the 422,188 patients have recovered, while 5,853 have died from the virus. 

Currently 31,597 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.

The new 2,654 cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,196 cases 
  • Adjara - 443 cases 
  • Imereti - 322 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 111 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 95 cases 
  • Guria - 70 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 163 cases 
  • Kakheti - 157 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 51 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 34 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 12 cases

An additional 162,630 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrived in Georgia yesterday.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stated that the immunisation process will be further expanded. 

Registration for the vaccine is available on booking.moh.gov.ge or through the hotline 1522.  

5,881 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 

21,756 individuals are in self-isolation. 

More than 6,900,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far. 

495,381 individuals have been vaccinated in the country so far.
