Georgia reports 3,141 new cases of coronavirus of 40,553 tests

Georgia has reported 3,141 new cases of coronavirus, 1,509 recoveries and 20 deaths in the past 24 hours.
40,553 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 23,242 of the 40,553 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,311 were PCR tests.
The country has had 410,830 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
6.28 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
377,597 of the 410,830 patients have recovered, while 5,751 have died from the virus.
Currently 27,456 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.

The new 3,141 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,648 cases
- Adjara - 438 cases
- Imereti - 270 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 152 cases
- Shida Kartli - 132 cases
- Guria - 54 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 139 cases
- Kakheti - 186 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 70 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 43 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 9 cases

5,256 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,018 of the 5,256 patients are in critical condition. 212 of the 1,018 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
18,470 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 6,658,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
432,795 individuals have been vaccinated in the country so far.
Georgia has reported two cases of Delta plus variant of coronavirus earlier today, while 40-50 per cent of the 3,666 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours had contracted the Delta variant, Georgian health officials stated earlier today.
Georgia has reported 3,666 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours which is a record high figure since January 2021. Seventeen individuals have died and 1,335 have recovered from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours. Georgia has reported 407,689 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 376,088 of the 407,689 individuals have recovered, while 5,731 have died from the virus. Almost 26,000 individuals remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia currently.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has stated that the government has no plans to reimpose coronavirus restrictions ‘because the state economy will not withstand them.’ He stated at today’s governmental meeting that the authorities have decided to ‘manage the epidemiological situation in the country rather than impose lockdown and other restrictions.’Garibashvili has urged the public to receive vaccines and to trust scientists and not various ‘anti-vaccine fake information and Facebook pages.’
Georgia has reported 2,061 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 31,204 tests over the last 24 hours. Out of the 2,061 new cases 1,030 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has stated that mandatory vaccination for medical workers ‘is not planned at this stage.’
Vaccinated individuals can receive a certification of their status for the purpose of traveling abroad at the medical institution where they received their jab, the Georgian Health Ministry stated today. The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) will also issue a certificate of vaccination for Covid-19. At the request of the receiving country, this certificate can be verified by an apostille from the Public Service Development Agency.
Following the request of the Georgian government Serbia has recognised Covid-19 full vaccination certificate issued in Georgia, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reports.
Georgia has reported 2,796 new cases of coronavirus, 2,088 recoveries and 17 deaths in the past 24 hours. 41,684 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 23,712 of the 41,684 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,972 were PCR tests. The country has had 413,626 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 6.73 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days. 379,685 of the 413,626 patients have recovered, while 5,768 have died from the virus.
