Georgia has reported 3,666 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours which is a record high figure since January 2021.
Seventeen individuals have died and 1,335 have recovered from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours.
Georgia has reported 407,689 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
376,088 of the 407,689 individuals have recovered, while 5,731 have died from the virus.
Almost 26,000 individuals remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia currently.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated yesterday that ‘no new lockdown or restrictions are planned in the country,’ because the state economy will not withstand them.

He urged people to get vaccinated, wear face masks and observe other Covid-19 guidelines.
Wearing of face masks in closed facilities and transport is mandatory in Georgia, while individuals must wear face masks outdoors if they are more than five standing together.
418,398 individuals have been inoculated in Georgia since March 2021, while less than half of this number have received both doses of a vaccine.
The Chinese Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines and the German-US Pfizer vaccines are available in the country currently.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has stated that the government has no plans to reimpose coronavirus restrictions ‘because the state economy will not withstand them.’ He stated at today’s governmental meeting that the authorities have decided to ‘manage the epidemiological situation in the country rather than impose lockdown and other restrictions.’Garibashvili has urged the public to receive vaccines and to trust scientists and not various ‘anti-vaccine fake information and Facebook pages.’
19,375 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 9,807 of the 19,375 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 9,568 were PCR tests. The country has had 404,023 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 5.73 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.374,753 of the 404,023 patients have recovered, while 5,714 have died from the virus.
Georgia has reported 2,061 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 31,204 tests over the last 24 hours. Out of the 2,061 new cases 1,030 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
500,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine donated by the United States have arrived in Georgia. Registration for the vaccine starts at 12 p.m. today via the booking.moh.gov.ge website. Meanwhile, Georgia has also received 15,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by Lithuania.
Georgia has reported two cases of Delta plus variant of coronavirus earlier today, while 40-50 per cent of the 3,666 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours had contracted the Delta variant, Georgian health officials stated earlier today.
40,553 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 23,242 of the 40,553 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,311 were PCR tests. The country has had 410,830 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 6.28 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.377,597 of the 410,830 patients have recovered, while 5,751 have died from the virus.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has stated that mandatory vaccination for medical workers ‘is not planned at this stage.’
39,126 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 21,777 of the 39,126 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 17,351 were PCR tests. The country has had 416,338 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 6.59 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.381,246 of the 416,338 patients have recovered, while 5,793 have died from the virus.
Individuals in Georgia will be able to receive Pfizer coronavirus vaccines not only in hospitals, but also in outpatient facilities, Deputy Georgian Health Minister Tamar Gabunia stated earlier today.
