Georgia offers Pfizer vaccination to individuals above 16

Individuals over 16 will be able to receive the Pfizer vaccine in Georgia following the Georgian health minister's order, Interpressnews agency reports.
The delivery of one million doses of the Pfizer vaccines is underway in Georgia.
Expressing his concern for the recent increase of infections among children, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has urged Georgians ‘to exercise high civic responsibility’ and get vaccinated.

Georgia started coronavirus vaccination in mid-March when the country received 43,200 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The country is currently using Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines for certain groups of individuals.
Registration for vaccination is available on booking.moh.gov.ge.
Individuals receiving either the AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines against Covid-19 will have to stay at clinics for 45 minutes, instead of 30 minutes to be observed if there are any adverse effects, announces deputy Health Minister of Georgia Tamar Gabunia.
The delivery of one million doses of the Pfizer vaccines has already begun in Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has announced. He said Georgia will be receiving the vaccines gradually every weekend enabling the population to register at booking.moh.gov.ge.
Children 16 and 17 years of age may receive Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine this autumn in Georgia, Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze has stated today.
Individuals over 45 years of age will be able to get vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced today.
Georgia has reported 2,261 new cases of coronavirus, 1,410 recoveries and 18 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 36,656 tests have been conducted around the country of which 20,704 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 15,952 were PCR tests. Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 395,621 cases of coronavirus, 369,483 recoveries and 5,636 deaths.
Georgia will receive 500,000 doses of Pfizer donated by the United States this Saturday, July 24. The Biden-Harris administration unveiled the strategy for global vaccine sharing ‘in service of ending the pandemic’ in early June.
Ten percent of the infected individuals in Georgia are children, medical director of Iashvili Children Hospital Ivane Chkhaidze says. A group of Georgia health workers and scientists also note in a joint statement that ‘the only way to defeat the pandemic is through mass vaccination and adherence to safety measures’.
Georgia has reported 2,460 new cases of coronavirus, 1,082 recoveries and 20 deaths in the past 24 hours. In total, 38,945 tests have been conducted around the country of which 20,419 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18,526 were PCR tests.
Registration for the first dose of Pfizer vaccine will start tomorrow and the Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze promises the registration website https://booking.moh.gov.ge will work without issue.
The government of Latvia has donated a total of 83,070 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Georgia. As of now, 322,903 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are available in Georgia. Those, willing to get vaccinated, should visit the health ministry website booking.moh.gov.ge and choose the vaccine they prefer and are eligible for.
