Registration for Pfizer vaccine opens tomorrow, Ministry of Health assures registration website will work smoothly

Registration for the first dose of Pfizer vaccine will start tomorrow and the Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze promises the registration website https://booking.moh.gov.ge will work without issue.

Citizens who register tomorrow will receive the Pfizer vaccine, a batch of 500,000 of which has been donated by the United States. 

In addition, individuals over 16 will be able to register for the Pfizer vaccine tomorrow.

Meanwhile, registration opened today for citizens who received the first dose of Pfizer vaccine on July 16. As of today more than 150,000 places have been allocated for 12,000 citizens to receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. 

Tikaradze said that if the citizens do not register for the second dose of Pfizer vaccine by 12:00 on July 24, then they will be automatically registered at the same facility where the first dose of the vaccine was given. However, she added that citizens will be able to change the clinic and the date of vaccination.

Registration for the second dose of Pfizer resumes today, people will be able to book their preferred date from July 26 to August 14 at 37 clinics where they have already been vaccinated", Tikaradze said.

She added that in order to ensure smooth registration, the ministry worked with several agencies and eliminated problems that appeared in the previous round of registration.

In addition, today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council raised the issue of the necessity of expanding access to vaccines throughout the country and decided to mobilise village outpatient clinics and set up vaccination centers in shopping centers in large cities. 

A total of 2 million doses of four WHO-authorised vaccines have entered Georgia in total since the start of the pandemic. Officials say it is crucial to accelerate the process of vaccination further to prevent the country from facing a rapid worsening of the epidemiological situation.
