Georgian team claims gold at Wheelchair Fencing World Championship in Poland

Georgia's national female team, comprised of Irma Khetsuriani, Nino Tibilashvili and Gvantsa Zadishvili, has claimed gold at the Wheelchair Fencing World Championship in the Polish capital of Warsaw.

The Georgian team handed a defeat to Ukraine yesterday. 

Congratulations to our small Georgia for being mentioned among the huge in the world. We did it, we are the first in the world, we are champions”, Tibilashvii wrote on Facebook.

She also added that ‘the world knows for sure that our Georgia is an independent state, which is impossible to defeat’.

Yet another Georgian female fencer Diana Jishiashvili has meanwhile claimed silver.
