Polish journalist stabbed during Tbilisi Pride counter rally violence stable after surgery

A Polish journalist who was stabbed on July 5 during the outbreak of violence at the Tbilisi Pride counter rally is in stable condition following surgery, surgeon of Aladashvili Clinic Kakha Dangadze told Formula TV today.

The journalist was stabbed on Khetagurovi Street in Tbilisi while he was performing his professional duties. Soon after the attack he was transferred to Aladashvili Clinic with chest injuries.

The patient had several injuries on his chest when he was transferred to the hospital. Following the surgery his health is stable. He will continue treatment in the hospital for several days”, said Dangadze.

Witnesses of the incident told Formula yesterday that the offender attacked the journalist for  the latter’s hairstyle and earring.

The offender was detained soon after the incident yesterday.
