Travel bloggers and influencers from across the world will see some of the most iconic sights of Georgia over the next week and a half before introducing their experiences to travellers following them on online platforms, in the latest move of the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) to promote the potential of the country to visitors.
Up to 20 popular authors of travel blogs and advice will be on individual and group visits to places including the Prometheus Caves in the west, Mestia in the northern mountainous province of Svaneti, the winter resort town of Gudauri and the capital Tbilisi.
GNTA said the visitors would promote tourist spots of varied profiles - from adventure to ecology to cultural - with "hundreds of stories" to be subsequently released on social media about the locations and people of the country.
In addition to their posting on the most popular social media pages, the stories will also be found by users of Steller, a platform and app introducing travel ideas and booking opportunities to tourists across the world. GNTA said a project introducing travellers to Ireland had received 72 million views and reactions on the platform in 2019.
The national tourism agency's programme for visiting bloggers and influencers is supported by the United States Agency for International Development's Economic Security Programme, and is set to host the social media personalities in the country between May 26-June 4.
