“I want to confirm that Lithuania is a true friend of Georgia, Georgian people and a true supporter of it’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations”, Lithuanian FM Gabrielius Landsbergis said after a meeting with his Georgian counterpart, David Zalkaliani.
The situation in the South Caucasus and the security environment issues were discussed at the meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.

Talks focused on the close cooperation between Georgia and Lithuania, including Georgia in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Lithuania’s significant support in this regard was also underlined during the meeting.
Landsbergis confirmed readiness to assist Georgia in combating the pandemic.
The agreement reached between the EU-mediated ruling party and the opposition was also welcomed by the Lithuanian FM:
Internal political problems will not stop Lithuania to make Georgia more secure and the region safer. We [Lithuania, Georgia] will continue to discuss the transatlantic direction, of which Georgia is a part”, said Gabrielius Landsbergis.
The Lithuanian FM paid tribute to the faller Georgian warriors.
Today Gabrialius has already met with Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili.
A meeting with the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will be held today.
On April 29, Gabrielius Landsbergis will visit the occupation line in the village of Odzisi (central Georgia), where he will get acquainted with the current situation on the ground together with the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
