"It is important that all political parties and elected members of parliament join the efforts to the immediate implementation of the agreement”, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielus Landsbergis said during a press conference today.
Lithuanian FM praised all the parties that signed the Eu backed agreement. He called on UNM Chair Nika Melia to consider the guarantees offered by the European colleagues.
As Landsbergis stated, it is extremely important to resolve the current political crisis so that the country has a fully functioning parliament with a full mandate of Georgian citizens.

Lithuanian FM also said that the agreement between the parties is not the finish line, as much remains to be done to address the issue of politicized justice, judicial and electoral reforms.
During the press conference Lithuanian FM also talked about the Russian occupation, noting that Lithuania will never compromise on Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity:
"Russia’s aggressive steps of borderisation and increased Russia’s military presence in the Georgia’s occupied regions will be condemned in all available formats. We call on Russia to immediately release Georgian citizens, fully obey 2008 Ceasefire Agreement as well as the European Human Rights Court’s decision of 21th January 2021. And in this regard our full solidarity goes to Zaza Gakheladze and his family, as well as other illegally detained persons and their loved ones", Landsbergis said.
Earlier today Landsbergis visited the administrative boundary line (ABL)by the Russia-occupied Georgian region of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) with the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
The visit and exchanges with EUMM monitors allowed Landsbergis to gain first-hand impression of the situation at the ABL and of the mission’s contribution to stability on the ground.
Landsbergis arrived in Georgia with an official visit on April 27.
