Georgia reports 1,310 new cases of coronavirus of 30,241 tests

Georgia has reported 1,310 new cases of coronavirus, 632 recoveries and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

30,241 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 17,446 of the 30,241 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,795 were PCR tests. 

The country has had 299,038 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

3.38 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said last week that if more than four per cent of tested individuals test positive for coronavirus in two consecutive weeks, the government of Georgia is likely to impose coronavirus restrictions, including lockdown.

282,869 of the 299,038 patients have recovered, while 3,971 have died from the virus. 

Currently 12,172 individuals remain infected with Covid-19. 

The new 1,310 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 798 cases 
  • Adjara - 85 cases 
  • Imereti - 72 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 61 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 39 cases 
  • Guria - 27 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 113 cases 
  • Kakheti - 85 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 18 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 8 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 4 cases

3,263 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 591 of the 3,263 patients are in critical condition. 98 of the 591 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

18,963 individuals are in self-isolation. 

3,946,720 have been conducted in Georgia so far.
