There are about forty fever clinics throughout the country which are ready to treat patients, said Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia earlier today.
Gabunia noted that many clinics in the regions had refused to accept patients with fever. She added that the clinics which can take in patients with fever have already been identified in the regions.
Fever clinics in the regions have the ability to serve patients with fever and respiratory symptoms,” said Gabunia.
As for larger hospitals, they have been already mobilised to serve patients with coronavirus infection and in case of necessity they will only serve patients with the coronavirus. These hospitals are identified in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Gori and Zugdidi.
Georgia has had 110 confirmed cases of the virus starting from February 26, 2020.
As of now there are 87 inside the country who have the virus (of the 110 confirmed cases, two were Austrian citizens who have already left the country).
4,995 are under quarantine in Georgia and 278 others are in hospitals.
