Georgia's StopCov foundation against COVID-19 already has 9 mln GEL

A total of 9 million GEL (about $2.60m/€2.37m) has already been accumulated in the StopCov foundation created on March 23 to help the poor and disadvantaged get through the coronavirus crisis in Georgia.
Business ombudsman Mikheil Daushvili said that since the opening of the account for donation, many citizens and dozens of companies have already expressed a desire to assist the state in the fight against coronavirus.
Among the companies that have made donations are:
- MagtiCom - 3 million GEL
- RMG - 1 million GEL
- Tegeta Motors - 200,000 GEL
- Dirsi - 200,000 GEL
- M2 - 100,000 GEL
- The Georgian Football Federation - 100,000 GEL.
- APM Terminals Poti - 100,000 GEL
- Casa Calda - 100,000 GEL
- Askaneli Brothers - 100,000 GEL
- Sarajishvili - 50,000 GEL
- Supermarket Zgapari - 30,000 GEL
Governmental webpage stopcov.ge, which provides information, news and updates on the coronavirus situation in the country, will be available in languages spoken by ethnic minorities in the country.
Private companies and individuals are now able to make donations in the national currency to help the poor and disadvantaged get through the coronavirus crisis in Georgia thanks to a StopCov foundation created today.
The government of Georgia has created a website - www.stopcov.ge - to inform the public about the coronavirus and provide information about the measures taken by the government to prevent thr spread of the coronavirus across the country.
The Government Reserve Fund has allocated 1 million GEL ($358,358) to the Ministry of Health to respond to the challenge of the new coronavirus in Georgia. The Ministry of Finance has also been instructed to allocate additional financial resources to the Ministry of Health if necessary.
Dozens of Georgian citizens have been provided with temporary accommodation and basic needs in France and Spain by the Georgian Embassies to these countries, says the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The United States Government is providing $1.1 million assistance to Georgia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will help prepare laboratory systems, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance, support technical experts for response and preparedness, bolster risk communication and more
A total of 15,500,000 GEL (about $4.67m/€4.22m) has already been accumulated in the StopCov fund created on March 23 to help the poor and disadvantaged through the coronavirus crisis in Georgia.
A total of 17,500,000 GEL (about $5.31m/€4.83m) has already been accumulated in the StopCov fund as of March 30. The funds raised in the StopCoV fund, that was created on March 23, will be used to meet 'identified needs'.
A total of 19,935,000 GEL (about $6.02m/€5.49m) has already been accumulated in the StopCov fund as of March 31. The funds raised in the StopCoV fund, that was created on March 23, will be used to meet 'identified needs'.
