From December 2015 the Georgian Government started to improve the living conditions of those living in Georgia’s high mountain regions, primarily the elderly who struggled financially.
By injecting more money into the development of these mountain areas, the Government aimed to increase financial opportunities for residents and reduce migration from rural areas to the city.
