The head and founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili says that some political parties are ‘very emotional and ambitious. However, I think that common sense prevails and we will have a multi-party parliament [in the end].’
Ivanishvili’s statement is in response to the opposition’s claim that the October 31 elections were falsified, and their refusal to participate in today’s run-offs in 17 election constituencies.
He also stated that the international community had ‘confirmed the October 31 parliamentary elections were held in line with democratic standards.’
He thanked voters for participating in the elections amid the coronavirus pandemic.
