Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze says that the acceptance of October 31 election results is the precondition for holding negotiations with the opposition.

Everyone must respect the official results of the elections. We said before the elections and after the elections that we respect the choice of the Georgian people. Now the opposition should say the same,” Talakvadze said after the meeting with the representatives of OSCE/ODIHR earlier today.

He stated that no one will be able to enter the parliament without elections.

We have nothing to concede. The elections were held in the full line with democratic standards,” Talakvadze stated.

Executive Secretary of GD Irakli Kobakhidze says that the opposition ‘has no right to raise ultimatums’ and that the international community ‘who recognised the legitimacy of the elections’ will not tolerate the opposition’s reactions.

All international partners have called on the opposition for dialogue. The opposition will receive strict responses for their ultimatums. The ruling party is working to show the opposition the right way,” Kobakhidze said.

The opposition parties who took to the streets following the October 31 parliamentary elections say that the elections were fabricated.
