Coronavirus recoveries outnumber new cases in Georgia

Georgia has reported 2,075 recoveries and 1,709 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. 

20 patients have died of the virus in the country in the past 24 hours.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stated earlier today that the country is able to admit an additional 4,639 patients in hospitals as of today.

She said that along with the 4,639 beds, 6,616 more beds can be used for Covid-19 patients in hospitals if it is needed and15 other hospitals may be involved in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

The new 1,709 cases were recorded in: 

• Tbilisi - 445 cases
• Adjara - 437 cases 
• Imereti - 388 cases 
• Kvemo Kartli - 32 cases 
• Shida Kartli - 125 cases 
• Guria - 35 cases 
• Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 151 cases 
• Kakheti - 40 cases 
• Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 12 cases 
• Samtskhe-Javakheti - 44 cases 

Georgia has had 35,567 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

As of today 18,364 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

511 patients are in critical condition, 128 of which are on artificial ventilation. 

273 individuals have died of the virus in the country so far. 

4,209 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today, 2,346 are in hotels and 11,809 are at home.

3,324 individuals are in quarantine and 29,074 in self-isolation.
