Coronavirus recoveries outnumber new cases in Georgia

Georgia has reported 2,075 recoveries and 1,709 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
20 patients have died of the virus in the country in the past 24 hours.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stated earlier today that the country is able to admit an additional 4,639 patients in hospitals as of today.
She said that along with the 4,639 beds, 6,616 more beds can be used for Covid-19 patients in hospitals if it is needed and15 other hospitals may be involved in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

The new 1,709 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 445 cases
- Adjara - 437 cases
- Imereti - 388 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 32 cases
- Shida Kartli - 125 cases
- Guria - 35 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 151 cases
- Kakheti - 40 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 12 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 44 cases
Georgia has had 35,567 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
As of today 18,364 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
511 patients are in critical condition, 128 of which are on artificial ventilation.
273 individuals have died of the virus in the country so far.
4,209 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today, 2,346 are in hotels and 11,809 are at home.
3,324 individuals are in quarantine and 29,074 in self-isolation.
Individuals placed under mandatory quarantine in hotels will be tested for blood clots (D-dimer) as in most cases COVID-19 infection causes small blood vessels to leak and blood to clot.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that the increased number of the individuals who have recovered from coronavirus gives reason for cautious optimism. 2,197 individuals have recovered from coronavirus in the country in the past 24 hours, while the figure stood at 1,262 yesterday. Gakharia said that the country is able to ‘effectively manage’ the increased number of infections. He stated that only local restrictions will be imposed if it is necessary and urged people to wear face masks in open areas where it is impossible to keep distance.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says the biggest challenge for the Georgian healthcare system is the lack of inpatient beds and medics during the coronavirus pandemic.
Georgia has reported 1,824 new cases of coronavirus, 1,262 recoveries and 23 deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia has had 32,127 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 12,632 patients have recovered, while 238 others have died. 3,847 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today, while 2,238 others are in hotels. 3,757 individuals are in quarantine around the country.
Georgia has had 37,263 cases of coronavirus since February 26,2020. 19,810 of the 37,263 patients have recovered, while 285 others have died. 17,142 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country as of today. 4,200 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals, 2,324 are in hotels, while 10,618 are at home. 490 patients ate in critical condition around the country. 121 of the 490 are on artificial ventilation.3,070 individuals are in quarantine, 29, 387 are in self-isolation.

A 15-year-old girl has died of coronavirus in Georgia today, clinical director of the First University Clinic Lali Turdzeladze has confirmed.
Georgia has reported 1,791 new cases of coronavirus, of which 532 were registered in the capital city of Tbilisi, 369 in the Black Sea Adjara region and 392 in the Imereti region.
