PM Gakharia: increased number of coronavirus recoveries gives reason for ‘cautious optimism’

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that the increased number of the individuals who have recovered from coronavirus gives reason for cautious optimism.
2,197 individuals have recovered from coronavirus in the country in the past 24 hours, while the figure stood at 1,262 yesterday.
Gakharia said that the country is able to ‘effectively manage’ the increased number of infections.
He stated that only local restrictions will be imposed if it is necessary and urged people to wear face masks in open areas where it is impossible to keep distance.
Georgia has reported 1,731 new cases of coronavirus and 15 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 636 cases
- Adjara - 333 cases
- Imereti - 320 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 121 cases
- Shida Kartli - 76 cases
- Guria - 18 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 119 cases
- Racha Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 15 cases
- Kakheti - 45 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 9 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 39 cases
Georgia has had 33,858 cases since February 26, 2020.
14,829 of the 33,858 have recovered, while 253 others have died.
18,776 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country as of today.
4,022 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today, while 2,344 are in hotels.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says the biggest challenge for the Georgian healthcare system is the lack of inpatient beds and medics during the coronavirus pandemic.
Georgia has reported 1,824 new cases of coronavirus, 1,262 recoveries and 23 deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia has had 32,127 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 12,632 patients have recovered, while 238 others have died. 3,847 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today, while 2,238 others are in hotels. 3,757 individuals are in quarantine around the country.
Georgia has passed into the epidemiological ‘red zone’ as COVID-19 numbers due to the increased daily numbers of coronavirus cases.
The government of Georgia says that wearing facemasks in open areas in the three main cities of Georgia - Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi - is strongly recommended to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. Georgia has reported 1,759 new cases of coronavirus earlier today and five deaths which is a record number since the country confirmed its first case of the virus at the end of February 2020. The majority of the new cases were recorded in the capital Tbilisi, Adjara and Imereti regions.
Individuals placed under mandatory quarantine in hotels will be tested for blood clots (D-dimer) as in most cases COVID-19 infection causes small blood vessels to leak and blood to clot.
Georgia has reported 2,075 recoveries and 1,709 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. 20 patients have died of the virus in the country in the past 24 hours.
Georgia has had 37,263 cases of coronavirus since February 26,2020. 19,810 of the 37,263 patients have recovered, while 285 others have died. 17,142 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country as of today. 4,200 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals, 2,324 are in hotels, while 10,618 are at home. 490 patients ate in critical condition around the country. 121 of the 490 are on artificial ventilation.3,070 individuals are in quarantine, 29, 387 are in self-isolation.
Georgia has reported 1,673 new cases of coronavirus, 2,881 recoveries and 22 deaths in the past 24 hours.
