Georgia reports 1,595 new cases of coronavirus, 6 deaths

Georgia has reported 1,595 new cases of coronavirus and six deaths in the past 24 hours.

The new 1,595 cases were recorded in:

Tbilisi - 563 cases
Adjara - 389 cases
Imereti - 335 cases
Kvemo Kartli - 77 cases
Shida Kartli - 69 cases
Guria - 53 cases
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 42 cases
Kakheti - 17 cases
Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 26 cases
Samtskhe-Javakheti - 24 cases
Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - no new cases

Georgia has had 22,803 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

Since then 9,401 patients have recovered, while 178 others have died.

As of today 13,224 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.

Georgia increases quarantine facilities to prevent coronavirus spread

Georgia has created additional quarantine facilities in the Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti region to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. The new quarantine facilities have been erected in the coastal town of Anaklia and the highland town of Mestia, said Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Alexandre Motserelia.

Field hospital opens in Eastern Georgia after local tests positive for coronavirus

The Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has set up a field hospital in Marneuli municipality in eastern Georgia today after a local, 62-year-old woman tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, and who came into contact with more than 80 people and spent four days in a local hospital.

Georgia has reported 1,351 new cases of coronavirus, 337 recoveries and 14 deaths in the past 24 hours. The majority of the new infections were recorded in the capital Tbilisi, Adjara and Imereti regions. Starting today, Georgian citizens returning from foreign states with negative PCR tests will be sent into self-isolation instead of quarantine. The majority of the 12,033 Covid-19 patients in Georgia are undergoing treatment either in hotels or at home as they have a mild form of the virus.

Gov’t: wearing facemasks in open areas in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi strongly recommended

The government of Georgia says that wearing facemasks in open areas in the three main cities of Georgia - Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi - is strongly recommended to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. Georgia has reported 1,759 new cases of coronavirus earlier today and five deaths which is a record number since the country confirmed its first case of the virus at the end of February 2020. The majority of the new cases were recorded in the capital Tbilisi, Adjara and Imereti regions.

Georgia has reported 1,872 new cases of coronavirus, 603 recoveries and 14 deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia has had 30,303 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 11,370 of the 30,303 patients have recovered, while 215 others have died. 3,832 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals in Georgia as of today, 2,249 are in hotels, while the remaining are at home. 3,769 individuals are in quarantine.
