Georgia reports 1,351 new cases of coronavirus, 337 recoveries

Georgia has reported 1,351 new cases of coronavirus, 337 recoveries and 14 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

The majority of the new infections were recorded in the capital Tbilisi, Adjara and Imereti regions. 

Starting today, Georgian citizens returning from foreign states with negative PCR tests will be sent into self-isolation instead of quarantine.

The majority of the 12,033 Covid-19 patients in Georgia are undergoing treatment either in hotels or at home as they have a mild form of the virus.

Patients who are in hotels and at home are under the supervision of doctors. Only critical patients and individuals with chronic diseases are sent to hospitals,” the head of the administration of the Government of Georgia Natia Mezvrishvili stated earlier today. 

The new 1,351 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 445 cases 
  • Adjara - 369 cases 
  • Imereti - 295 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 76 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 66 cases 
  • Mtskheta Mtianeti - 23 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 23 23 cases 
  • Kakheti - 20 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 18 cases 
  • Guria -15 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 1 case

Georgia has had 21,208 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

Since then 9,003 patients have recovered, while 172 others have died. 

More than 130 of the 12,033 coronavirus patients in the country are in critical condition.
