Georgia reports 472 new cases of coronavirus, breaking streak of increases

Georgia has reported 472 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, breaking a streak in case increases. 

The majority of the new cases were recorded in the country’s coastal Adjara region and in the capital of Tbilisi.

Three patients have died of the coronavirus in the country in the past 24 hours. All the deceased individuals were from the Adjara region.

The new 472 cases were recorded in: 

• Adjara region - 230 cases 
• Tbilisi - 134 cases 
• Imereti - 68 cases 
• Samtskhe-Javakheti - 8 cases 
• Kvemo Kartli - 8 cases 
• Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 8 cases 
• Shida Kartli - 6 cases 
• Kakheti - 5 cases 
• Mtskheta Mtianeti - 5 cases 

Georgia has had 10,225 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.

5,553 of the 10,225 patients have recovered, while 66 have died.

As of today 4,606 patients remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.

60 patients are in critical condition.  Nine of the 60 have been transported from the country's Russian-occupied Abkhazia region.
