Georgia reports 508 new cases of coronavirus

Georgia has reported 508 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today. 259 of the 508 new cases were recorded in the coastal Adjara region, while 111 were recorded in Tbilisi. 

Four individuals have died of Covid-19 in the country in the past 24 hours - two in Adjara region, one in Terjola municipality and one in Tbilisi. 

The patients who have died of the virus were elderly individuals with underlying illness.

The new 508 cases were recorded in: 

• Adjara region - 259 cases 
• Tbilisi - 111 cases 
• Imereti - 91 cases 
• Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 25 cases 
• Guria - 8 cases 
• Kvemo Kartli - 5 cases
• Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 5 cases 
• Shida Kartli - 2 cases 
• Kakheti - 2 cases 

58 patients remain in critical condition around the country. Eight of the 58 patients have been transported from the country’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region.

Georgia has had 9,753 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 

5,235 of the 9,753 patients have recovered, while 62 others have died. 

As of today 4,456 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.
