7 new cases confirmed, 25 recover from coronavirus in Georgia

Seven more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Georgia increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 1469.

Three out of the seven people had contact with infected individuals, two cases are ‘imported’ while the source of infection of two others is yet unknown.

With the recent 25 recoveries the number of recovered individuals now stands at 1221.

Georgia has reported 23 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and 13 recoveries. Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia said that 14 new patients contracted the virus from contact from infected individuals, eight cases were ‘imported’ of which five are truck drivers and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining one case.

Georgia reports 38 new coronavirus cases, record high since April

Georgia has reported 38 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, which is a record high number since April 16 when 42 cases of coronavirus were detected. 22 new patients contracted the virus from the cluster of confectionery Dona in Georgia's Black Sea resort town of Batumi, seven cases from contact from infected individuals, four cases were ‘imported’ of which two are truck drivers and the source of infections has not been identified in the remaining five cases.
