Georgian law enforcers have detained four drug dealers in Ponichala district in Tbilisi and in Gardabani, Georgia’s eastern Kvemo Kartli region.
The Main Division for Fighting Against Drug Trafficking (under the Central Criminal Police Department) has uncovered an online drug trafficking scheme through which the drug dealers would connect with their clients.
The detainees came up with a criminal scheme to sell drugs, by means of which they managed financial resources through the internet with online casino accounts. The detainees provided their ‘clients’ with the account numbers of online casinos and provided them with drug locations after the money transfer, reads an official statement of MIA.
The police found that the detainees received 2 million GEL through the sale of drugs.
Law enforcers seized heroin, a large amount of money, mobile phones, and bank cards from the apartments of the detainees.
The crime is punishable by eight to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
