Police have arrested one individual with an allegation of manslaughter that precipitated "group violence" in the city of Akhalkalaki in Georgia's south on Saturday, with buildings burned down in the locality as a result of violence.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Sunday morning the situation in the city was under control with "maximum number of police forces mobilised" for preventive security measures.
The ministry also revealed police officers had arrested a man alleged to have committed the crime the previous evening using firearm, followed by torching of private property by relatives of the victim.
Further violence sparked by the killing also resulted in injuries to several people, with investigations ongoing.
