No more than 100 people will be allowed to attend weddings, rituals (baptism, funeral) and various social events in open spaces starting today in order to prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19, reports the government’s press office.

“As it is highly expected that people will drink alcohol at weddings and funerals and then will not be able to maintain social distance, the government has set a limit of 100 people”, said the government’s press office.

Last week the Georgian government allowed cultural events and indoor rehearsals in accordance with a protocol established by the Ministry of Health. No more than 200 individuals will be allowed to attend outdoor cultural events (concerts, performances) while the coronavirus is still present in the country.

On July 8 gyms, fitness centers were given the green light to reopen in Georgia after passing inspections by the Labour Conditions Inspection Department.

As for group classes, no more than 10 individuals will be allowed to exercise in one area at a time.
