Football fans will soon be allowed back into stadiums, the head of the Georgian Football Federation Levan kobiashvili told the media after the Interagency Coordination Council meeting earlier today.
It has been more than a month since the National Football League has started without its fans. You have probably seen people gathering in narrow spaces behind football stadiums, which is not safe for them in terms of the risk of the coronavirus spreading. I’m happy to announce that soon fans will be allowed back into stadiums”, said Kobiashvili.
In the coming days the Georgian Ministry of Health will issue coronavirus regulations for football fans.
Kobiashvili told the media that there may be certain limits on the number of people in accordance with the capacity of stadiums.
No more than 100 people will be allowed to attend weddings, rituals (baptism, funeral) and various social events in open spaces starting today in order to prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19, reports the government’s press office.
Georgia will allow open air cultural events to be held starting July 13, said PM Giorgi Gakharia earlier today.
Open and closed swimming pools, saunas and baths must follow a set of recommendations issued by the Georgian Health Ministry after reopening.
The Georgian Ministry of Health has issued a series of coronavirus regulations for gyms and fitness centres to reopen today. Gyms were closed in mid-March 2020 in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Football fans in Georgia will be able to return to the stands for the national team's second round fixture in the World Cup qualifiers later this month, when the team faces Spain in Tbilisi.
Georgia's national football team came close to denying Spain two points in a second round fixture of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, after the visiting team left Tbilisi with a 2-1 win only thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Dani Olmo.
