Five new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the Georgian government on Sunday, with the total active cases standing at 114.
The updated figure puts the total of confirmed infections since the start of the outbreak at 986, with 857 recoveries. The death toll remains at 15.
The number does not include 28 Georgian Defence Forces servicemembers testing positive for the virus while on peacekeeping duty in Afghanistan on Friday. The soldiers have been transported back to Georgia by the Ministry of Defence.
Georgian health professionals have carried out 142,577 tests for citizens since the start of the pandemic.
