Russian-controlled occupation forces have allegedly shot a Georgian citizen yesterday who was trying to cross the occupation line between Georgia and its western occupied Abkhazia region.
The Georgian State Security Service says that the hot line has been activated for the ‘alleged incident and the agency is looking into the details.’
Head of Zugdidi hospital Sulkhan Orzhonia says that the wounded patient from occupied Abkhazia entered the clinic late yesterday and later he was transported to Kutaisi hospital.
He says that the middle-aged man was shot in the leg and his health condition is stable.
Mtavari Arkhi reported that the incident took place late yesterday and that the man was coming from the Russian-controlled Gali district and trying to enter the Tbilisi-administered Ganmukhuri village.
Mtavari also reports that the occupation forces called out to the man and demanded him to stop. However, the man decided to run and he was shot.
