The Agency for IDPs and Eco-migrants of Georgia has purchased 734 rural houses for IDP families in the Samegrelo region of Georgia 'over the past year', announces the agency.

It is important that most of the houses have their own land plots which creates an additional source of income for the IDPs", says the agency.
By the end of 2020, the agency will buy an additional 700 houses for IDP families.
122 flats will be built on land plots owned by internally displaced persons (IDPs) with the financial support of the German Development Bank (KfW) in Georgia’s eastern region of Shida Kartli and Western Georgia, reports the press office of the Ministry of Health, Social Care and Internally Displaced People.
The Georgian Government has provided 34 internally displaced families (IDPs) with accommodations in Georgia’s eastern region of Shida Kartli.
The construction of flats for eco-migrant families living in slum-like conditions in Batumi’s so-called ‘Dream Town’ will start in February, said Head of the Adjara region government Tornike Rijvadze earlier today.
“The Government of Georgia will provide 211 IDP families with accommodations for free,” Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has declared at a briefing today.
Georgian patrol police have received advanced document inspection equipment from the International Organisation for Migration with financial support of the European Union, with officers of the interior ministry set to benefit from the hardware.
