Azerbaijani man detained for smuggling 5,450 turtles into Turkey via Georgia

Turkish border guards have detained Azerbaijani citizen Ruslan Gurbanov for smuggling 5,450 water turtles into Turkey via Georgia, Turkish media outlets report.
The detainee had the turtles hidden in the door trims of his vehicle.
The individual was detained at Sarpi border checkpoint.
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has uncovered an online drug trafficking scheme and detained three drug dealers who are the citizens of Russia, announces the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Georgian police have seized heroin in especially large quantities from a Turkish citizen in Georgia’s western coastal city of Batumi. The individual, who was identified as M.I., 46, has been charged with the possession of drugs.
One individual has been detained for drug trafficking, the Georgian Interior Ministry reports.
The Georgian Interior Ministry has charged 77 individuals of smuggling drugs into Georgia in between January and July 2019. The Ministry reports that three were detained for attempting to smuggle drugs in Georgia several days ago.
Turkish customs officers have arrested an individual for an attempt of smuggling a large number of bees from Georgia into the country, Turkish Daily Sabah has reported.
Five individuals have been charged with manufacture and use of forged tax documents, damage to property, negligence and smuggling of “particularly large quantities” of wheat by the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
