1 detained for drug-trafficking, 114 grams of heroin seized

One individual has been detained for drug trafficking, the Georgian Interior Ministry reports.
The detained individual is an Azerbaijani citizen, born in 1966.
The Georgian Interior Ministry released a video regarding the detention:
Police seized 114 grams of heroin in two packages.
The crime is punishable by eight-20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
As of July 28, 98 individuals had been charged for drug crimes since the beginning of 2019. During the first seven months of the year 15 kg of heroin was seized by Georgian law enforcers.
Police detained four for drug offenses including two drug dealers on August 11. Two of the detainees were arrested on the Tbilisi – Senaki – Leselidze highway. 1,002 pills of Subutex and 293 pills of MDMA were seized as the police officers searched the vehicle.

The Georgian Interior Ministry has detained a Georgian citizen for domestic violence as well as the purchase and possession of 5 pills of Subutex in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi last night. Identified only as G.S., the individual was accused of assaulting his wife, identified only as L.Ts., both verbally and physically.
Georgian police have seized a methadone substance in especially large quantities in the Georgian region of Samegrelo today. The operation ended up with the arrest of one individual identified only as T.M. born in 1976. The detainee faces from eight to twenty years or life in jail.
Police officers have seized especially large quantities of drugs in the town of Marneuli, in the Kvemo Kartli region and arrested one, identified only as I.G. today. Police report that the detainee, born in 1967, faced charges in past and currently is on parole.
Police have detained a Georgian citizen for the purchase and possession of 12 packs of heroin in the western Georgian region of Imereti. The Georgian Interior Ministry reported today that the individual, identified only as O.Ch., born in 1946, was found in possession of “especially large quantity of drugs”.
Turkish border guards have detained Azerbaijani citizen Ruslan Gurbanov for smuggling 5,450 water turtles into Turkey via Georgia, Turkish media outlets report.
