Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region has reported two new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of infected individuals in the region to 68, of which 35 have already recovered.
Local media report that both newly infected individuals are students of a Russian military academy. They returned to the Tskhinvali region from Volgograd, a city in Russia.
The majority of the infected patients in the region are students of Russian military academies.
As of this moment 268 individuals are under observation in hospitals.
The de-facto government has asked Russia for support in purchasing coronavirus tests.
Russian-occupied Tskhinvali confirmed its first case of the coronavirus on May 6.
