Georgia’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia region has reported two more cases of the coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of infected individuals to 12.

Local media reports that among the newly infected patients one is a student of a Russian university who returned from Russia to Abkhazia yesterday.

The region confirmed its first case of coronavirus on April 7.

A 15-year-old child died in Abkhazia after being admitted to the hospital on April 7 in critical condition.

Abkhaz news agency Apsnypress reported that the child was tested for coronavirus, though later the de facto authorities said that the minor was not infected with the coronavirus.

The minor had disabilities and a number of chronic diseases.
