Thirty-seven people have been transferred from Russian-occupied territories onto Tbilisi-controlled territory due to the coronavirus.

Our position is clear and straight-forward – it does not matter on which side of the Enguri River an infected person lives. They are also our citizens and we have to take care of them,” said Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia late yesterday.

Rukhi University Clinic in Zugdidi municipality in western Georgia is being used to treat patients from the Russian-occupied Abkhazia.

They are our citizens, citizens of Georgia.” said Gakharia.

He noted that there will be no difference in the standards of care for Georgian citizens from any region of the country, be it from Tskhinvali region or Abkhazia.
