Total number of coronavirus cases in Russian-occupied Abkhazia climbs to 35

The de-facto government of the Russian-occupied Abkhazia region has confirmed seven new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total to 35 in the region.

RFE/RL reports that all the newly infected individuals are students of a Russian military academy who returned from Moscow to Abkhazia on June 2.

The de-facto government reports that 27 of 35 patients have already recovered, while one has died.

The majority of coronavirus-infected individuals are students of Russian military academies.

The de-facto government of Georgia’s Russian occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) also reports that the majority of infected patients in the region are students of various Russian military academies.
