Georgian rescuers are searching for a missing man who has gone missing after an avalanche in Georgia’s mountainous region of Tusheti yesterday.

Kakheti Governor Irakli Kadagishvili said that the avalanche occurred while a contractor company was cleaning the Pshavi-Abano-Omalo road. Two individuals were trapped by the debris, though the rescuers managed to save one yesterday.

The video below by the Emergency Management Service shows how the rescue team is searching for the missing man.

One man with several injuries to his left leg was transferred to the Telavi Referral hospital. His life is not in danger. Five emergency brigades are still searching for the other man. The rescue operation was suspended following a high risk of avalanche danger yesterday evening”, said Kadagishvili.

The area is being monitored by drone.
